Player Notes
Pedro Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Alvarez connected for a solo shot off Rays starter Jake Odorizzi in the sixth inning. That would be the last run the O's scored in the 5-2 loss. For the season, the 29-year-old slugger is slashing .254/.322/.497 with 11 homers and 29 RBI across 181 at-bats. He has homered in each of his last two starts (Alvarez is not utilized as an everyday player) and has doubled in three of his last five. After a dreadful open to the 2016 campaign, Alvarez has turned himself into a respectable bench option for deeper AL-only formats, though he doesn't play enough at this point to rise above "respectable bench option."

Pedro Alvarez hit his 10th home run on Friday, finishing 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Advice: In addition to the longball, Alvarez drove in J.J. Hardy with an RBI double in the fifth inning. He hasn't received a ton of playing time, but has hit well when given the chance. He now has a .254/.323/.486 line in 177 at-bats.
