Player Notes
Phillies activated OF Domonic Brown from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Advice: Brown is now recovered from left Achilles tendinitis, but he batted just .189 (10-for-53) with one home run and a .573 OPS over 15 games between High-A Clearwater and Triple-A Lehigh Valley during his minor league rehab assignment. Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg hinted at the possibility of him staying in Triple-A on Monday, so this decision doesn't come as a big surprise, but it shows how far he's fallen in the organization's eyes. Jeff Francoeur and Grady Sizemore will continue to see playing time in the Phillies' outfield for now.

Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg indicated Monday that it's possible Domonic Brown (Achilles) could be sent to Triple-A Lehigh Valley once activated from the disabled list on Wednesday.

Advice: "I don't know that he's ready (to face major league pitching)," Sandberg said of Brown, who is hitting just .188/.298/.292 on his rehab assignment. The Phillies must do something with the outfielder, as his rehab clock runs out after Tuesday. It's hard to believe they wouldn't think Brown is a better option than Jeff Francoeur in right field, but it wouldn't be the first time Philly has made an odd decision.

Domonic Brown (Achilles) said Friday that he feels "outstanding" health wise as he nears his return to the Phillies next week.

Advice: Brown has been on an extended minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley where he has gone 3-for-24 with three walks and five strikeouts. The Phillies wanted him to get as many at-bats as possible to get his timing back before rejoining the big league club. His last game with the Iron Pigs should be Sunday or Monday.
