Player Notes
Sean Doolittle (shoulder) is set to begin playing catch Friday.

Advice: It will be a big step for Doolittle, who was diagnosed with a slight tear in his rotator cuff back about two months ago. If he continues to make progress, a return in early May is realistic.

Sean Doolittle (shoulder) could begin playing catch by the end of this week.

Advice: Doolittle is rehabbing a slight tear in his rotator cuff and has been focused on sock throws in recent days. The A's are pleased with his progress and he appears on track to return around the start of May.

Sean Doolittle (shoulder) did sock throws Monday.

Advice: It's a light range-of-motion exercise and Doolittle reported no issues during or after the workout. The left-handed closer is rehabbing a slight tear in his rotator cuff. He's expected to join the Athletics' bullpen around the beginning of May.

Sean Doolittle (shoulder) will begin throwing ragballs next week.

Advice: He’s been throwing weighted balls to a trampoline in the Athletics’ training room to this point. Doolittle hasn’t had any setbacks as he rehabs a slight tear in his rotator cuff, but he doesn’t appear close to throwing off a mound. The A’s are hopeful that he’ll be ready at the beginning of May.

Sean Doolittle (shoulder) said Tuesday that he's getting closer to throwing.

Advice: Doolittle was diagnosed in January with a slight tear in his rotator cuff as well as inflammation and irritation in his throwing shoulder. He received a PRP injection at the time and is currently focused on strengthening exercises. The A's are hopeful he'll be ready at some point in April, but it all depends on how he progresses.
