Player Notes
Chris Carter went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in Tuesday's loss to the A's.

Advice: Carter hit an RBI single off A's starter Sonny Gray in the sixth inning. It gave the Brewers a short-lived 2-1 lead which would be erased in the bottom of the frame. Outside of the single, the all-or-nothing slugger struck out three times. For the season, Carter is slashing .225/.297/.502 with 18 homers and 44 RBI across 249 at-bats. That fantastic power output comes with 91 strikeouts.

Justin Tasch and Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News report that the Mets have talked to the Brewers "about a few players."

Advice: Chris Carter is surely available via trade and would make sense for the Mets with Lucas Duda (back) out indefinitely. He's making $2.5 million in 2016 in a year where he's hit 18 homers and is under team control through 2018. The Brewers are also expected to shop Jonathan Lucroy and he could be a possibility for the Mets, especially if they're not confident Travis d'Arnaud (shoulder) can stay healthy.
