Player Notes
Buster Posey is not in the Giants' starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon against the Padres.

Advice: It's just a standard day of rest for Posey. Trevor Brown will get the start at catcher and bat eighth with the Padres throwing right-hander James Shields.

Buster Posey went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's win over the Cubs.

Advice: Posey boosted the Giants to a 4-1 lead with his third-inning homer against Cubs starter Jon Lester. They would tack on one more run in the frame to take a 5-1 lead. Two late runs by the Cubs were not enough to topple that deficit. For the season, Posey is hitting .274/.327/.438 with nine doubles, five homers and 17 RBI over 146 at-bats.
