1B Gaby Sanchez was optioned to Class AAA New Orleans after going 0-for-3 in Saturday's 2-0 loss in Cleveland.
Sanchez was batting .197 with one home run and nine RBI -- just one reason for the Marlins' stagnant offense.
"We felt like we needed to send him down to try to get him going," General Manager Michael Hill said. "We don't think he's a .190 hitter. We think he's better than he's showing here. He's pressing. We want to take some of the pressure of him, send him down and get him right."

The Marlins optioned Sanchez to Triple-A New Orleans after Saturday's game, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
Recommendation: Sanchez made the NL All-Star team last year thanks to a .293/.374/.472 first-half, but he started 2012 with a mere .197/.244/.295 with just one home run in 122 at-bats. Greg Dobbs should see the majority of the Marlins' at-bats at first moving forward, pending the corresponding move.
