Player Notes
Chris Davis went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, four RBI and a walk Thursday against the Tigers.

Advice: Davis has six homers in 13 games since the All-Star break and 25 overall. It's not nearly the same kind of season he had in 2013, not with his .244 average, but it's is a big improvement on what he did last year.

Chris Davis crushed a pair of home runs to drive in five runs, helping the Orioles take down the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: The O's fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning, but Davis quickly responded with a three-run home run in the bottom half. He added a two-run shot in the second, with both blasts coming against Julio Teheran -- his only hits in four at-bats on the night. Davis is swinging a hot stick as he's homered five times in his last seven games, giving him 24 on the season with 65 RBI and a .243/.325/.497 line.

According to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, the Cardinals "don't appear to be high" on Chris Davis.

Advice: St. Louis is known to be in search of an upgrade at first base, but the Cardinals' primary target seems to be the Brewers' Adam Lind. Crasnick says the Cards are "wary" of Davis' lofty strikeout totals, and it also probably helps that Lind carries a team-friendly option for 2016 whereas Davis is due to become a free agent.

Chris Davis launched a grand slam in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Rays.

Advice: Davis unloaded on an Erasmo Ramirez offering with one out and the bases juiced in the third inning to give the Orioles a 4-0 lead. It was his 22nd homer of the season and pushed his RBI total to an even 60 on the year. The slugger has been in the zone of late, with three homers and two doubles in his last four games. That, on top of an ongoing eight-game hitting streak. He's currently hitting .242/.321/.487. On Friday, Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reported that the Orioles were considering selling off some pieces at the trade deadline. Davis is one of those potential pieces, and with his recent hot stretch, he should draw interest as a rental from multiple teams if the team does, indeed, try to move him.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that the Orioles are giving "serious consideration" to becoming sellers at the trade deadline.

Advice: The reigning American League East champs have been disappointing so far in 2015, posting a 46-48 record. They sit just 4.5 games out of a Wild Card spot, though, so it would be a bit of a surprise to see them sell. If they would make such a decision, impending free agents like Chris Davis, Matt Wieters and Wei-Yin Chen could be on the move.

Chris Davis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday afternoon's loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Davis crushed a Masahiro Tanaka offering in the second inning, his 21st homer of the season. The solo bomb gave him 55 RBI for the year. He's rapidly closing in on his 2014 home run total, as he hit 26 long balls a season ago. After slashing just .196/.300/.404 in 2014, he's hitting .238/.317/.473 this year. It's been a nice bounce-back campaign for the slugger, who is too often judged against a monster 2013 campaign that, realistically, was never going to be repeated.

Chris Davis finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run as the Orioles came up short versus the Yankees on Wednesday.

Advice: Davis halved the Orioles' deficit when he took Andrew Miller yard in the ninth inning, but the club otherwise wasn't able to do much. He hasn't been able to recapture the production that resulted in his third-place finish in AL MVP balloting in 2013, but he's still hitting a productive .238/.318/.466 with 20 home runs and 54 RBI.
