Player Notes
Denard Span smacked a solo home run off Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning of Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Span's solo home run to lead off the ninth merely served as cosmetic effect in this one, as the Dodgers held a 9-4 advantage entering the frame. The tater was Span's eighth of the season and pushed his RBI total to 43. In addition, the veteran outfielder is slashing .274/.337/.385 over 464 at-bats. There is no fantasy shine here.

Denard Span had a rough night at the plate on Sunday, going hitless in four at-bats as the Giants were shutout by Noah Syndergaard and the Mets.

Advice: As a team, the Giants were only able to generate three total hits, so Span wasn't alone in his ineffectiveness. The Giants' leadoff hitter is now hitting .272/.335/.377 on the season with seven homers and 42 RBI.

Denard Span is getting the day off Wednesday.

Advice: Eduardo Nunez will bat leadoff and Gregor Blanco will start in center field in the afternoon tilt against the Pirates. Span is batting just .263/.329/.361 this year.
