RHP Greg Reynolds is expected to begin throwing about 12 weeks after his Oct. 28 surgery to remove scar tissue and an inflamed bursa sac from the area around his right scapula. Reynolds, 24, who spent part of the 2008 season with the Rockies and was the second player taken overall in the 2006 draft, made an April 9 start for Class AAA Colorado Springs and didn't pitch after that in 2009. |

Reynolds (back) underwent exploratory arthroscopic surgery on Wednesday to remote some scar tissue and remove an inflammed bursa, insidetherockies.com reports. Recommendation: Reynolds will be able to resume throwing activities in 3 months. He should be ready to go by spring training, which will give us an opportunity to see how he responds to the surgery. We don't recommend holding your breath. |
