Galarraga allowed one run and three hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings of a 7-1 win at Kansas City on Wednesday.
Advice: Galarraga carried a perfect game into the seventh inning before David DeJesus led off the inning with a single to right. To that point, the 26-year-old rookie right-hander had allowed just two fly balls to the outfield and struck out six. This was an impressive outing for Galarraga, who allowed five runs and eight hits in 6 2-3 innings of his last game, a 7-4 loss at Baltimore on Friday.

RHP Armando Galarraga can expect to face more and more left-handed hitters as he builds up a track record in the majors. Galarraga, 7-4, has a terrific slider -- two of them, in fact -- but they break in to left-handed hitters. Lefties are hitting .280 against him with a .342 on-base percentage whereas Galarraga holds right-handed hitters to a .237 average. Ten of the 13 home runs he has allowed have come off the bats of left-handed hitters. His next start will be Wednesday at Kansas City. On the road he has a 2.85 ERA vs. a 4.24 mark at Comerica Park.
