RHP Jair Jurrjens allowed 11 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings pitching for Class AAA Gwinnett on Wednesday night. However, Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez said Gwinnett manager Dave Brundage reported the team misplayed balls behind Jurrjens and that the numbers don't reflect how he pitched. The key points are that his slider was good and that there was separation between it and his changeup. There is no timetable for Jurrjens' return to the big-league rotation.

Jurrjens was hammered by Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday night. He allowed 11 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits and two walks while striking out three in 4.2 innings pitched.
Recommendation: Being send down to the minors won't help Jurrjens rediscover his diminishing fastball. Jurrjens, who averaged 91.1 mph with the pitch two seasons ago, was averaging 88.2 mph before being send down, and a 3.68 K/9 in Triple-A does not indicate major league success.
