Player Notes
Brandon Moss went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's loss to the Mets.

Advice: Moss hit a two-run shot off the right field foul pole to get the Cards on the board in the sixth inning, and he added a solo homer in the eighth for good measure. Moss now has 25 home runs and 60 RBI in 96 games. He also hit 25 bombs in Oakland in 2014, and his single-season best is 30, also with the A's, in 2013. With over a month to play, Moss has a shot at setting a new record this year.

Brandon Moss was scratched from the Cardinals' lineup Friday due to illness.

Advice: He should be fine in a day or two. Matt Carpenter has moved over from second to first base and Kolten Wong entered the lineup at second.

Brandon Moss stayed hot Wednesday, going 2-for-5 with three RBI in the Cardinals' win over the Astros.

Advice: Moss smacked a single in the Cardinals' three-run third inning and then launched a massive three-run shot off lefty reliever Tony Sipp in the top of the seventh. The 32-year-old slugger has nine hits, four home runs, and seven RBI over his last six games and he boasts a .924 OPS, 22 home runs, and 54 RBI in 90 total games for the year. St. Louis acquired Moss from Cleveland last summer for Rob Kaminsky, who's sitting on an underwhelming 3.50 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 78/40 K/BB ratio through 110 2/3 innings this season at Double-A Akron. Another gem of a deal for GM John Mozeliak.
