3B Andy LaRoche made two outstanding plays in the field with diving stops but went 0-for-3 at the plate. He is just 3-for-26 (.115) since being acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in a July 31 trade.

LaRoche was back in the Pirates' lineup Monday against the New York Mets.
Advice: LaRoche was in the lineup for the first time since he was hit on the right thumb by a Dan Haren pitch last Monday. LaRoche walked as a pinch-hitter in Sunday's loss.
