Young was used in a pinch-hitter role on Tuesday, getting hit by a Carlos Marmol pitch. Recommendation: Manager John Russell wanted to give recently recalled Garrett Jones a shot in left field. As a result, Brandon Moss got the nod over Young in right. Russell has stated that he'll likely go with the hot hand in the outfield, but Young figures to see plenty of starts -- at least until Lastings Milledge joins the team later in July. Unless Young or Moss are traded, they figure to form a three-way platoon with Milledge in both right and left fields, though that's still a long ways off. |
