OF David Murphy (sprained knee) has not yet given up on playing this season. He returned to the field for batting practice Friday.

Shawn Shroyer, of MLB.com, reports Texas Rangers OF David Murphy (knee) has not been able to perform baseball activities because the swelling in his knee has not subsided. He has been examined by team doctors and does not know when he will be able to return to action. Murphy plans on traveling with the team next week. If his knee does not improve soon the team will consider shutting him down for the rest of the season.
