Player Notes
Nationals signed 1B Adam Lind to a one-year, $1.5 million contract with a $5 million mutual option for 2018.

Advice: While the veteran first baseman posted a relatively uninspiring .239/.286/.431 triple-slash over 401 at-bats with the Mariners last season, he also walloped 20 home runs. He has managed at least that many dingers in six of the last eight seasons. With the Nationals he could see split work in a platoon with the right-handed hitting Ryan Zimmerman. All in all, this is a fine under-the-radar February signing.
