The Boston Red Sox had a frustrating night at Camden Yards on Friday, losing 2-0 to the Orioles. Things got a little heated in the eighth inning when Orioles third baseman Manny Machado appeared to slide late into second base to break up a double play. The slide did its intended job, but the momentum also caused Machado’s foot to skip over the base and his spike to catch the back of Dustin Pedroia’s right calf.
After 108 years of frustration and disappointment that’s been passed down from generation to generation, Chicago Cubs fans finally got to celebrate a World Series championship last fall. It’s April now and it’s time to move on, which means Cubs fans are now fair game again for taunts and trolling. It’s just a different form of taunting and trolling now that the Cubs have actually won.
Of course, what’s freshest in our minds is Miller’s dismal performance in 2016. Miller made a lousy impression on D-Backs’ fans, posting a 6.15 ERA over 20 starts and just 101 innings. Now he’s looking to continue rebuilding his stock and his confidence, and he’ll have another chance to do just that on Sunday when the Diamondbacks host the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Free MLB Game of the Day on Yahoo Sports. That game, which can be streamed on our MLB page, the Free Game of the Day tab or right here in this very post, will begin at 4:10 p.m. ET.
