RHP Zach Miner made a successful return to the Detroit rotation with six innings of three-hit shutout ball. Miner didn't try to overthrow his fastball and as a result it had some devastating sink most of the time. He also worked in some changeups. Miner threw 88 pitches, walking one and striking out one.

Jason Beck, of MLB.com, reports Detroit Tigers SP Zach Miner is making his first start with the Tigers since last season against the Boston Red Sox. Miner suffered the loss but impressed manager Jim Leyland enough to keep him in the bullpen.
