Player Notes
Mike Napoli launched a three-run homer in a losing effort against the Yankees on Sunday night.

Advice: His towering drive off Esmil Rogers capped a three-run Red Sox uprising in the sixth inning, pulling them to within three at 8-5, though that would be as close as the score would get. Napoli finished the night 1-for-3 and also drew a walk. He has been in quite the funk offensively through the first month-plus of the season, hitting .167/.278/.295 with two homers and seven RBI.

Mike Napoli (illness) is back in the Red Sox' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: Napoli missed the last two contests because he was under the weather. He's batting just .169/.280/.262 in the early going this season.

Mike Napoli (illness) is expected to miss another couple of days.

Advice: Napoli's illness is apparently contagious and will keep him out of the lineup for a second straight day Tuesday. Have a backup plan in mind in fantasy leagues this week.

Mike Napoli (illness) is out of the starting lineup for the Red Sox for the second straight day Tuesday.

Advice: Napoli is sick and apparently needs another day to rest. Daniel Nava will make the start at first base while Brock Holt will get another start, this time in right field.

Mike Napoli is out of the Red Sox starting lineup on Monday against the Blue Jays due to illness.

Advice: Napoli slugged his first home run of the season Saturday night at Camden Yards, but he followed that up with an 0-for-5 and two strikeouts in Sunday's series finale. The 33-year-old is batting just .169 with a .542 OPS in 18 games this season. Daniel Nava is at first base and Brock Holt is in right field Monday versus Toronto.
