Gorzelanny (3-3) walked a season-low two batters Saturday night, limiting the Braves to two runs in 7.1 innings. He gave up seven hits and walked four en route to his third win. Recommendation: After surrendering a two-run homer to Mark Texeira in the first inning, Gorzo cooled off Atlanta's bats. His command was improved -- 60 of 92 pitches went for strikes -- and he showed no lingering signs of the back spasms that caused him to miss a turn in the rotation. |

Gorzelanny is schedule to start Saturday against Atlanta after experiencing a lot less discomfort in his lower back, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Advice: Gorzelanny's back bothered him during the fifth inning of a 13-1 victory over the Mets last Wednesday, causing him to be lifted after the inning. He also had back discomfort during an April 13 start against the Reds. The injury caused him to miss a turn in the rotation. |
