Johnson failed to get out of the fourth inning in Florida's 5-3 win over the Nationals on Wednesday, his shortest appearance in 34 starts dating to June 23, 2007. Advice: Johnson yielded one run and five hits in 3 1-3 innings, with four walks and three strikeouts, and only 49 of his 89 pitches went for strikes. "Somehow, I only gave up one run," Johnson said. "I don't like it, but I'll take it." |

Johnson's control deserted him Wednesday, as he walked four batters in 3.1 innings. Recommendation: He kept the damage to a minimum though, allowing just one run despite giving up five hits as well, and he did strike out three. It's always re-assuring for his fantasy owners when a pitcher has an off day and doesn't do too much damage to his ERA. |
