Saunders gave up four earned runs over 6.1 innings, but managed to strike out seven batters and walk away with a win in the D-Backs' victory over the Dodgers on Wednesday night.
Recommendation: Saunders has been on a rough stretch after a great start to the season. Generally, the knock on Saunders is that his K total is relatively low, but he did mow down seven on Wednesday. Chances are, this isn't a sign of things to come. With his inflated WHIP, he's due for even more regression.

LHP Joe Saunders has lost potential victories three times this season, the last time when the bullpen failed to hold a 4-3 lead against Kansas City on Friday, a game the D-backs went on to win, 6-4. Saunders, who has six quality starts, went six innings. The bullpen failed to hold 1-0 lead in the eighth inning of his start at San Diego on April 10 and a 4-3 lead in the ninth inning of his start at Washington on May 2.

Saunders kept Arizona in the game after a shaky start, and Miguel Montero drove in three runs against the Kansas City Royals, including the deciding two in the eighth inning for a 6-4 win.
Advice: Saunders allowed three runs in the first three innings before shutting down Kansas City over the next three. He is 0-2 with a 9.42 ERA in his last three starts.
