INF Jeff Keppinger explained what has been the freakiest of the Rays' string of injuries, as he was sitting on the bench at the front of the Rays dugout Saturday when he was struck on the right foot by a foul ball -- through the netting -- and sustained a broken big toe, and will be sidelined at least four weeks. "Wrong place, wrong time,'' he said.

The Tampa Bay Rays placed Keppinger on the disabled list Monday with a broken right toe.
Advice: Keppinger was hit by a foul ball in the dugout on Saturday.

Keppinger has been placed on the 15-day DL with a broken right toe, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Recommendation: With the move, Keppinger is the 10th Rays player to go on the disabled list. Drew Sutton was acquired from the Pirates on Monday to take Keppinger's place on the active roster.
