SS Jason Bartlett (knee) was placed on the 15-day disabled list. General manager Josh Byrnes said, "Jason knows there is no guarantee of a job awaiting him if he is healthy."

Bartlett has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right knee, the Associated Press reports.
Recommendation: This is the same knee that was bugging Bartlett in spring training, so perhaps the DL move takes on a little added concern. It's been a horrible season so far for the shortstop, who has an awful .133 batting average and .433 OPS in 83 at-bats. Everth Cabrera, called up Thursday, may have a shot to take the job and run with it.
