Player Notes
David Wright is back in the Mets' starting lineup, batting cleanup and playing third base, Thursday night against the Phillies.

Advice: Wright was given the night off Wednesday, but he is expected to start the Mets' next three games. The veteran third baseman homered Monday in his first game since April 14 and looks capable of providing significant fantasy value in the middle of an energized Mets lineup.

David Wright is not in the Mets' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: Wright played in the first two games of the series against the Phillies but is sitting out the third, which could be a pretty normal routine as he returns from spinal stenosis. Juan Uribe is at third base.

David Wright is in the Mets' lineup again Tuesday against the Phillies, batting cleanup.

Advice: Wright went 2-for-5 with a homer and a walk Monday in his first game since April 14. He'll likely need regular rest as he manages his spinal stenosis condition, but it's a good sign that he feels well enough to play consecutive days.

David Wright, playing in his first game since April 14, homered as the Mets trampled the Phillies on Monday.

Advice: Wright made a grand entrance, slamming an Adam Morgan pitch into the second deck at Citizens Bank Park in his first at-bat of the game, putting the Mets on the board at 4-1 in the second inning. He would finish 2-for-5 with a walk. Wright carries a .342/.390/.500 batting line with two home runs and five RBI in 41 plate appearances this season. The Mets plan to ease the third baseman back by giving him regular rest.

Mets activated 3B David Wright from the 60-day disabled list.

Advice: Wright is starting at third base and batting cleanup in his first major league game since April 14. The veteran third baseman went 9-for-28 (.321) with five walks on his eight-game minor league rehab assignment and will be worth starting in standard fantasy leagues on days he plays. Mets manager Terry Collins has said that Wright will get regular days off out of the gate.

David Wright (back) played six innings at third base Saturday afternoon at High-A St. Lucie.

Advice: That should be the final rehab game for Wright, who is expected to rejoin the Mets on Monday. The veteran third baseman went 9-for-28 (.321) with five walks and six strikeouts during his rehab assignment. He's not going to play every day out of the gate, but Wright could regain some value in deeper mixed fantasy leagues if his health cooperates down the stretch.

Mets manager Terry Collins has conceded that David Wright (back) won't play every day upon his activation from the disabled list.

Advice: It's no surprise given that Wright hasn't played since mid-April due to spinal stenosis. "I talked to Dave today.... I don’t know how many days a week, but he certainly won’t be that everyday guy until we know his back is 100%; that may not be until next spring," Collins said. The Mets will mix in Juan Uribe at third base on days Wright sits. Wright is expected back on Monday.

David Wright (shoulder) will not be activated from the disabled list this week.

Advice: Wright had been hoping to return as soon as this weekend in Colorado, but the Mets have ruled that out. Instead, he's in line to rejoin the big club early next week in Philadelphia. Wright hasn't played since mid-April due to spinal stenosis.
