Bill Plunkett, of The Orange County Register, reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Jeff Mathis and C Mike Napoli became only the seventh catcher duo to catch a hitless game.

Mathis had a throwing error on a stolen base attempt on Saturday night, his sixth such error in his past 13 games, the Orange County Register reports.
Recommendation: This error was pretty significant - it allowed Matt Kemp to get to third base, where he scored the game's only run on the next batter on a sacrifice fly. “Jeff is trying to find a rhythm behind the plate throwing the ball and he's been throwing better the past few games,” manager Mike Scioscia said. “That one just got away from him.”
