Player Notes
Jose Bautista bopped a tie-breaking three-run homer Saturday in a dramatic win over the Yankees.

Advice: It wasn't as epic as the famous "bat flip" but it was a worthy sequel and a reminder that Bautista is money when the stakes are highest. Bautista broke a scoreless tie with a righteous blast to left field off Tyler Clippard in the eighth inning. It was one of two hits for Bautista, who also doubled in the second inning. Bautista is rounding into postseason form with two homers over his last three outings. With the victory, the Blue Jays are now a full two games clear of Baltimore and Detroit in the AL Wild Card race.

Jose Bautista smashed a game-tying solo home run in the ninth inning of Wednesday's 12-inning loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Bautista absolutely unloaded on an Edwin Diaz offering with one out in the ninth inning, sending it an estimated 424 feet to left field. That monster shot tied proceedings at 1-1. The Mariners would eventually win in the bottom of the 12th on a Robinson Cano sacrifice fly. For the season, Bautista is now slashing .230/.358/.437 with 19 homers and 60 RBI over 391 at-bats. Wednesday's homer was just his second in the month of September.
