Wellemeyer followed up a decent 2008 campaign with an awful 2009 for St. Louis. He had a 5.89 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in 122.1 innings. Recommendation: Wellemeyer doesn't strike out enough batters to be so hittable. He had just 78 strikeouts, but opposing hitters hit him at a .328 clip. The Cardinals will probably part ways with him as they have better options for 2010. |
