OF/DH Hideki Matsui appears likely to remain at Triple-A Durham for at least a few more days, even though there was talk that he could be called up for the weekend series in Boston. But Matsui does not look ready, hitting .133 (4-for-30) with only a .156 on-base percentage, in eight games for Triple-A Durham.

Matsui is likely to join the Rays sometime this week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Tribune reports
Recommendation: Topkin speculates "maybe for the weekend series in Boston." Matsui is just 2-for-18 in five games with Triple-A Durham, but the Rays want him to join the big club soon. The 37-year-old is a .285 career hitter, but hit just .251 in 2011 with Oakland.
