DH Hideki Matsui, who had been forced to sit out the Yankees' lengthy stretch of games in National League parks due to his fragile knees, has enjoyed his chance to contribute again. Matsui homered and had two hits Thursday night and has gone 3-for-6 with five RBIs in his first two games back in the American League, where he doesn't have to play the outfield. |

Matsui will begin receiving regular at-bats again this week after being limited to pinch-hitting duties while the Yankees were on the road in National League parks, the Yankees' official site reports. Recommendation: This offseason, the Yankees were optimistic that Matsui would be able to play in the outfield once the middle of the season rolled around. That doesn't appear to be the case, so don't be surprised if Matsui is limited to the DH spot for the rest of the season. |
