DH Marcus Thames has cooled off again with pitchers keeping the ball away from him and mostly throwing on the borders of the strike zone. Thames went just 1-for-10 in three games at Oakland after going 3-for-20 in the previous two series. Detroit needs his power, though, so he is likely to remain in the lineup except for an occasional game off against a pitcher he's had problems with.
