Recommendation: Bedard is only 2-5 this season despite a 3.52 ERA. However, he has a 1.39 WHIP and has recorded 48 strikeouts in 46 innings this season, so he throws a lot of pitches. He has pitched five innings or less in six of his nine starts this season, an area he clearly needs to improve on if he is going to earn more victories.

LHP Erik Bedard, who had to skip a start before pitching six solid innings Wednesday, reported no issues with the back spasms that previously bothered him. "I felt good," Bedard said. "I was fine." Bedard should have no issue taking his next turn.
