Player Notes
Dodgers placed OF Carl Crawford on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique.

Advice: Crawford said that "it's a bad tear," so it sounds like he could be looking at a pretty lengthy stay on the disabled list. Alex Guerrero is starting in left field on Tuesday and should see plenty of starts there while Crawford is out, although Scott Van Slyke also figures to play a bunch.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said after Monday's game that it "sounds like" Carl Crawford is dealing with an oblique injury.

Advice: Crawford was forced to leave Monday's game due to what is being termed as tightness in his right side. The Dodgers should know more about his status on Tuesday, but a trip to the disabled list could be a possibility. Andre Ethier is currently filling in for Yasiel Puig, so Alex Guerrero and Scott Van Slyke could see an uptick in playing time.

Carl Crawford had to leave Monday's game against the Giants with tightness in his right side.

Advice: More should be known after the game, but obviously if it's an oblique issue he could wind up on the disabled list. With Yasiel Puig (hamstring) already on the shelf, Alex Guerrero and Scott Van Slyke could see time in left field if Crawford is out for a while.

Carl Crawford left Monday's game against the Giants with an apparent injury.

Advice: Crawford appeared to be in bit of pain after legging out a triple in the second inning. He initially remained in the game but was eventually pulled after scoring following a single in the third. The Dodgers should provide an update on his status shortly.

Carl Crawford homered and doubled in a winning cause Friday against the Padres.

Advice: Crawford has come under a little early fire, in part because Alex Guerrero needs more playing time and could be an alternative in left field. Crawford, though, likely remains the team's best option there against righties. He was off to an ugly start going into this one, though, with a .216 average and just one RBI in 37 at-bats.
