Thurston has been outrighted to Triple-A Memphis.
Recommendation: The move clears up a space on the 40-man roster. Regardless of where he lands, Thurston isn't likely to see much action beyond a limited utility role in 2010.

INF Joe Thurston, who was with the Cardinals all of 2009, hitting .225 while making 55 starts, was outrighted to Class AAA Memphis. Thurston was a platoon starter at third base until Mark DeRosa was acquired in late June.
