C Yorvit Torrealba had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Sept. 3. The surgery was successful, but there is no timetable for his return to baseball activities.

Thomas Harding, of MLB.com, reports Colorado Rockies C Yorvit Torrealba (knee) underwent surgery Wednesday, Sept. 3, to fix a meniscus tear in his left knee. Torrealba still hopes to return before the end of the 2008 season. No date has been set for his return to baseball activities.

The Rockies placed Torrealba on the 15-day disabled list because of a torn ligament in his left knee on Saturday night.
Advice: Torrealba has had an ongoing problem with his left knee, according to manager Clint Hurdle. He was hitting .246 with six home runs and 31 RBI in 70 games and had lost the starting job to Chris Iannetta. The Rockies purchased the contract of Adam Melhuse from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
