Player Notes
Juan Uribe is in the Braves' lineup against the Dodgers Wednesday, batting fifth and playing third base.

Advice: Uribe didn't have to travel far after Wednesday's trade, simply walking to the Braves' locker room as the Dodgers host Uribe's new club. With third baseman Chris Johnson returning from the disabled list on Wednesday afternoon, Uribe will likely fill a part-time role with the Braves moving forward.

Braves acquired 3B Juan Uribe and RHP Chris Withrow from the Dodgers for INF Alberto Callaspo, LHP Eric Stults, LHP Ian Thomas, and RHP Juan Jaime.

Advice: Uribe's decline has accelerated in his age-36 season and he's doubtful to take on significant fantasy relevance with a change of scenery. The veteran had hit just .247/.287/.309 with one home run and six RBI in 29 games for the Dodgers. Getting him out of Los Angeles allows Alex Guerrero to become an everyday player.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that trade a between the Dodgers and Braves involving Juan Uribe and Alberto Callaspo is "done," pending approval by the commissioner’s office.

Advice: It was reported earlier Tuesday that Callaspo rejected the trade, but now Rosenthal is saying he waived his right to reject any deal prior to June 15. Rosenthal says it would be a six-player trade, and he thinks Trevor Cahill and/or Eric Stults could be one of the players going to the Dodgers.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com writes that the Braves could still have interest in acquiring Juan Uribe from the Dodgers, even after the Alberto Callaspo deal fell through.

Advice: Callaspo chose to reject a trade to the Dodgers, as was his right as a player who signed a free agent contract over the winter. However, the Braves clearly like Uribe and there still might be momentum to get a deal done. The 36-year-old has taken on a diminished role with the Dodgers of late.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports that the potential Juan Uribe/Alberto Callaspo swap between the Dodgers and Braves has "lost traction."

Advice: FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal wrote that the deal on the table had Uribe and a minor leaguer going to the Braves for Callaspo and three minor leaguers, but Bowman now hears that nothing is imminent. It's unclear why talks have hit a snag, but Callaspo has the ability to veto a trade until June 15 since he signed as a free agent over the winter.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers are talking to the Braves about a deal involving Juan Uribe and Alberto Callaspo.

Advice: No specifics yet, but Uribe and a minor leaguer would go to the Braves for Callaspo and three minor leaguers. Rosenthal hears from one source that the deal was close to being completed as of Monday night, which explains why Callaspo was a late-scratch from the Braves' lineup. Callaspo doesn't have much value to the Dodgers, but moving Uribe would officially clear the way for Alex Guerrero, Justin Turner, and Scott Van Slyke to take on more pronounced roles. Uribe, 36, is batting just .247/.287/.309 with one home run and six RBI through 87 plate appearances this season and is making $6.5 million. Because Callaspo signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Braves as a free agent over the winter, he has the ability to veto any trade until June 15.
