Eckstein (hamstring) should be ready to return to the Padres in just under two weeks when he becomes eligible to come back from the DL, the Padres' official site reports.
Recommendation: He's been traveling with the team while on the DL, and his hamstring strain is of the Grade 1 (least severe) variety.

2B David Eckstein was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a first-degree strain of his right hamstring. Eckstein suffered the injury while running out a groundball in the 12th inning Sunday.

The San Diego Padres have placed Eckstein on the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring injury.
Advice: Eckstein pulled up lame while running out a groundball Sunday in the 12th inning of the Padres' 7-6 loss to Los Angeles in 13 innings. He's hitting .267 with a homer and 33 RBIs. replaced by rookie catcher Jose Lobaton, who was called up from Triple-A Portland on Sunday and made his major league debut. Lobaton had never played any other position than catcher in his eight-year minor league career.
