Recommendation: The speedy outfielder hadn't left the ballpark since Sept. 6, 2010. After missing all of last season, he's got a chance to stick with the Red Sox and play consistently for a stretch this year.

OF Scott Podsednik returned to the big leagues on Tuesday, as he had his contract purchased by the Boston Red Sox. He batted .323 (10-for-31) with one homer and two stolen bases over his first nine games with Triple-A Pawtucket. He had been acquired by the Philadelphia Phillies earlier this month. The 36-year-old hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010, when he was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is a career .279 hitter over 10 major-league seasons.
