OF Scott Podsednik posted the eighth four-hit game of his career Saturday. The four hits included a career-best three doubles. Podsednik had a lengthy session with Rockies hitting coach Alan Cockrell before the weekend, and he credits that with his improvement from .217 to .240 since the All Star break.

Podsednik made his second straight start and third in five games on Sunday in place of Willy Taveras (quadriceps).
Recommendation: Even with Taveras hobbling and Ryan Spilborghs (oblique) on the DL, Podsednik isn't a desirable option. The Rockies are talking about promoting Double-A prospect Dexter Fowler, so Podsednik's tenure in Denver might not last much longer.
