LF Scott Podsednik admitted that he's changed both on the field and off the field from the player the Sox knew back in 2005-07. For the first time in his career, he's now having fun. "That's the biggest difference in my game from two to three years ago to now, I used to play the game with a lot of anxiety," Podsednik said. "I pressed, I tried to go out and make things happen. I tried to take all the things I've learned in my years in the big leagues and make myself better. That's what has helped me the most, to find the ability to go out and play the game at a relaxed level. A big step toward that was the spring training game I played against the Sox near the end of camp. The Rockies had told me, 'You're not going to make this club [just before the game],' and from there I had nothing to lose. I went out, had fun and played the game really relaxed. A light kind of went off and I told myself, 'Hey, you need to figure out how to take the field that relaxed day in and day out.' " Considering Podsednik was hitting .331 over his last 36 games entering Sunday, it's worked. |

Podsednik will be held out of the starting lineup for the first time in forty five games, the Chicago Tribune reports. Recommendation: Sox manager Ozzie Guillen is holding Podsednik out of the lineup because lefty Cy Young winner Cliff Lee is on the mound for the Indians. Jayson Nix will leadoff and get the start in left field. |
