Ortiz improved his record to 2-3 with the Triple-A Yankees. He allowed two runs on six hits (two home runs) and zero walks while striking out four in eight innings.
Recommendation: Ortiz, who improved his record to 3.86, has done a solid job in Triple-A. It does not look likely that he will make an impact with the Yankees this season considering he is not on the 40-man roster, and that other pitchers (David Phelps, Freddy Garcia and DJ Mitchell) are above him in the pecking order.
