The Brewers transferred Gonzalez (knee) to the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reports.
Recommendation: Gonzalez is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL, so the move to the longer list won't affect his status for the current campaign. Cody Ransom, claimed off waivers from the Diamondbacks, will take Gonzalez's spot on the 40-man roster.

SS Alex Gonzalez was transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Ransom. Gonzalez had season-ending right knee surgery last week.
