RHP Carl Pavano's next start will come on Saturday, as the Twins seek to give his sore right shoulder some extra rest, manager Ron Gardenhire said. Pavano was scheduled to pitch Thursday, but Cole DeVries will make his major-league debut that night, with Anthony Swarzak pitching on Friday. Pavano had been working with a soft-tissue specialist in the Twin Cities last week, and allowed two runs in six innings during a win over the Brewers on Saturday.

Pavano (shoulder) will have his next outing pushed back two days and start on Saturday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Recommendation: The Twins wanted to give him extra rest to help him overcome a sore shoulder he's been pitching through. Pavano had a good outing Saturday with improved velocity and said before the start his shoulder felt better.
