Sexson finalized his contract with the New York Yankees on Friday and was immediately plugged into the starting lineup against Oakland left-hander Greg Smith. Advice: The Yankees signed the big first baseman after he was released by Seattle last week. Sexson slumped badly against right-handed pitching with the Mariners, but hit .344 with five home runs in 71 at-bats against lefties this year. |

The Yankees reached a tentative agreement with Sexson on Thursday, the ESPN.com reports. Recommendation: Sexson still does not merit a spot in all but the deepest fantasy leagues, as he will not be an everyday player in New York. He should start against lefties, meaning he could be in the Yankees' lineup as early as Saturday when they face Oakland's Greg Smith. Sexson will also be utilized as a powerful pinch hitter off the bench. |
