Player Notes
David Ortiz hit his 35th home run of the season in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Ortiz's two-run shot in the first inning off of Orioles' starter Chris Tillman was his only hit of the game. He finished 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Ortiz now has three home runs in his last two games, having launched two bombs against the Orioles on Friday. For the season, Ortiz has 104 RBI. This marks the seventh season in which Big Papi has driven in 100 or more runs. It's also Ortiz's first season with 35 or more home runs since he hit 35 back in 2007. Overall, the slugger is slashing .264/.356/.520. Not bad for a 38-year-old.

David Ortiz blasted a pair of home runs on Friday, including a go-ahead two-run shot in the 10th inning, powering the Red Sox to a 5-3 victory over the Orioles.

Advice: Ortiz got the Red Sox on the board with a solo blast in the fourth inning, which was immediately followed by another off the bat of Yoenis Cespedes. He then delivered a massive two-run shot off Darren O'Day in the 10th inning to put the Red Sox ahead for good, finishing the night 3-for-5 with three RBI. He now has 34 homers and 102 RBI on the season, making it a club record eighth time that he has reached the 30-homer/100-RBI plateaus, surpassing Ted Williams.

David Ortiz is back in the Red Sox starting lineup on Thursday night versus the Pirates.

Advice: Ortiz was away from the Red Sox for much of this week due to a private family emergency. He is starting at first base for Boston on Thursday at PNC Park.

David Ortiz is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates.

Advice: Ortiz left Sunday's game due to a family emergency, but was expected to rejoin the team Tuesday. Still, he'll take a seat with the DH unavailable under National League rules.

David Ortiz left Sunday's game against the Royals to tend to a family emergency.

Advice: Ortiz has already left to return home to the Dominican Republic. While he may rejoin the Red Sox in Pittsburgh, fantasy owners shouldn't count on him for the first half of the week.
