David Ortiz is not in Tuesday's lineup against the White Sox.

Advice: The veteran slugger will take a seat against left-hander Chris Sale. Hanley Ramirez will fill in at DH while Travis Shaw will play first base and Deven Marrero will play third.

David Ortiz clubbed his 18th home run on Friday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Red Sox to a victory over the visiting Mariners.

Advice: His two-run shot off of Hisashi Iwakuma got the Red Sox on the board in the fourth inning, but at that time it only cut their deficit to 7-2. Ortiz also drew a walk in the ballgame, finishing the night 1-for-3. The 40-year-old slugger is now hitting an extremely impressive .344/.424/.723with 18 long balls and 59 RBI and showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.

David Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a home run in a loss to the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: The solo shot in the ninth inning was a bit of an afterthought in a one-sided game, but it was the 40-year-old's first homer since he homered in two straight games to start the month. He's now got 17 home runs overall, fifth-most in the American League, and his 57 RBI are second-best in the league. He's batting a robust .344/.423/.715 on the year.
