3B Aaron Boone, who is on the 60-day disabled list recovering from open-heart surgery he had in March, has been fully cleared to work out in his quest to return to the club.
"Aaron is doing great," Bob Boone said of his son. "He's doing really well. I talked to him two days ago. He's been released full-bore (to start a) training program. He doesn't have to limit anything.
"He's started hitting. I think realistically he's probably four weeks from getting a good part of his strength back and swinging the bat. You get into August, you rehab and you're right there in September where you don't have to mess with the roster unless he's really swinging." |

Boone (heart surgery) has been cleared to work out with club, the Houston Chronicle reports. “Aaron is doing great,” Bob Boone said of his son. "He's been released full-bore (to start a) training program. He doesn’t have to limit anything." Recommendation: Boone has started hitting, and is probably at least a month away from getting back into game shape. Best case scenario, Boone could make an appearance when the rosters expand in September. |
