RHP Keith Foulke (shoulder) was activated on Saturday after missing two months with shoulder soreness. Foulke worked on Sunday and gave up one hit in one inning, striking out two. He allowed both of the runners he inherited from starter Greg Smith to score. |

Foulke, who has been out with a sore right shoulder since July 4, was reinstated from the disabled list on Saturday. Advice: In order to make room on the roster for Foulke, the A's optioned left-hander Dan Meyer to Double-A Midland, according to the team's official Web site. The right-handed reliever, who also missed time from April 11-May 9 with neck stiffness, is 0-3 with a 3.81 ERA in 26 appearances for the Athletics this season. |
