LF Raul Ibanez says he's feeling better, but really, that's all relative. His strained groin continues to cause him intermittent pain, especially when he twists and turns on the run. So, Ibanez won't start a minor-league rehabilitation assignment this weekend. Instead, he saw team physician Dr. Michael Ciccotti on Friday night to determine whether he'll be able to return before the All-Star break, which begins after a July 12 game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Citizens Bank Park. |

Ibanez (groin) had his first rehabilitation game delayed for the second straight day on Thursday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Recommendation: After two days of working out with Double-A Reading, Ibanez and the team decided he was not ready to make a start Thursday. The team insists that Ibanez has not suffered any setbacks and that they are just being cautious. Ibanez needs 10 to 12 at-bats before being activated which means he could still be activated on Monday if he plays for Reading on Friday. |
