Player Notes
Yankees placed DH Alex Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

Advice: A-Rod suffered the injury in the fifth inning Tuesday while running to first base. The veteran slugger is probably going to need more than the typical 15 days off. Dustin Ackley replaced him at designated hitter on Tuesday night, but look for the Yankees to work in several different names through that DH spot.

Wed, May 4 Rotoworld
Alex Rodriguez will undergo an MRI on his right hamstring.

Advice: A-Rod pulled up lame while running to first base in the fifth inning Tuesday and manager Joe Girardi acknowledged after the game that the situation is "definitely worrisome." It sounds like a disabled list stint could be coming for the veteran slugger. Dustin Ackley replaced him in the Yankees' lineup on Tuesday night.

Alex Rodriguez was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Orioles with an apparent leg injury.

Advice: A-Rod appeared to tweak something in his right leg while running to first base in the top of the fifth inning and Dustin Ackley entered to hit for him in the top of the eighth. There should be an update after the game. This could be a big blow for the already-struggling Yanks.

Alex Rodriguez homered, doubled and drove home four runs as the Yankees were outlasted by the Red Sox on Sunday night in Boston.

Advice: A-Rod blasted a two-run homer off David Price in the third inning then added on a two-run double his next time up in the fifth. The 40-year-old slugger has really picked up his offense in the past few weeks, and is now slashing .203/.286/.464 with five homers and 12 RBI on the season.

Sun, May 1 Rotoworld
Alex Rodriguez socked a solo homer Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: He’s up to four home runs on the season and 691 for his career. Rodriguez has five hits (including two doubles and two home runs) over his last three games, so at least he’s showing some signs of life. The 40-year-old is batting .194/.286/.419 overall.

Fri, Apr 29 Rotoworld
Alex Rodriguez finished 3-for-3 with a walk and a homer in Wednesday night's loss to the Rangers.

Advice: A-Rod sat out the first two games of this series because of oblique stiffness, but he looked to be moving free and easy on Wednesday as he walked in the second, homered in the fourth, doubled in the sixth, and singled in the ninth. The veteran designated hitter raised his season slash line from .145/.242/.273 to .190/.288/.379 in one busy night.

Wed, Apr 27 Rotoworld
Alex Rodriguez (oblique) is in the lineup for Wednesday's contest with the Rangers.

Advice: Rodriguez was forced out of Sunday's game against the Rays due to oblique stiffness. He missed the first two games of the Bombers' series against the Rangers, but is back in the lineup and hitting fifth on Wednesday. The veteran slugger has struggled through the first month of the season and is slashing just .145/.242/.273 with two homers and six RBI over 55 at-bats.

Alex Rodriguez (oblique) is out again Tuesday.

Advice: A-Rod also sat out Monday after making an early exit Sunday with stiffness in his oblique. An MRI came back negative for a strain, so the hope is that the veteran slugger will be fine in a couple of days. Mark Teixeira is at DH and Dustin Ackley is at first base on Tuesday night against Rangers right-hander A.J. Griffin.

Tue, Apr 26 Rotoworld
Alex Rodriguez (oblique) is not in Monday's lineup against the Rangers.

Advice: A-Rod left Sunday's game with oblique stiffness, but an MRI came back negative. Still, he might need to rest for a couple of days at the very least. Carlos Beltran will fill in at DH on Monday while Dustin Ackley will play right field.
