Mark Bowman, of Braves.MLB.com, reports Atlanta Braves SP Tom Glavine (elbow) threw a 50-pitch bullpen session Friday, July 25, and felt more strength in his shoulder. He will throw a short bullpen session Saturday, July 26, and a simulated game Wednesday, July 30. |

LHP Tom Glavine (strained left flexor tendon) threw 40 to 45 pitches at what he estimated was 75 percent in a bullpen session before the game. He was encouraged but is not close to game-ready. |

Glavine threw off the bullpen mound Saturday for the first time since landing on the disabled list in early June because of a strained left elbow, and said he was encouraged by his work. Glavine said he threw about 40 pitches at about 60 percent effort and said "it went all right.'' He said he tried all his pitches. Advice: Glavine plans to take a couple days off before throwing again. Glavine is 2-3 with a 4.85 ERA this season. |
