After the game: Best Seattle Mariners bars and restaurants near Safeco Field
It's funny to think that this tradition almost never would have happened if the Mariners didn't make their improbable comeback in the 1995 and make the playoffs.
If the Mariners had quietly spent the rest of the season in the American League West cellar, one of the last memories we would have had as Mariner fans, would be of the Kingdome imploding.
Instead, the Mariners wrestled the division from the Angels, and gained enough fan support to build Safeco Field. Later on, Qwest Field was built next door for the Seahawks. Without a new stadium, there isn't really a reason for a team to stay. One only has to look at the Sonics moving to Oklahoma City to understand this.
Luckily Mariners and Seahawks fans have two stadiums located next to each other in the heart of Soho. If you're looking for a bar or restaurant for before or after Mariners games, this list will give some helpful suggestions.
The Hawks Nest Sports Bar and Grill
Located in the shadows of Qwest Field, this local bar and restaurant supports the Seahawks, Mariners, and Sounders FC.
This is a great place to get some burgers or a beer from more than 14 types on tap. This is an ideal bar for post Mariners games. There are flat screen TVs on every wall so you can come here to watch the away games or to catch post game highlights. During away games, all drafts are $3.00 each.
Also, the days that the Seahawks play, there is a brunch special so you can have breakfast burritos and scrambled eggs, mixed in with cocktails, shots and bombs.

Sluggers Sports Bar
Sluggers is located near Safeco Field and supports the Mariners, Seahawks and Sounders FC. It's also probably the liveliest place to go for postgame drinks and food.
The walls of this sports bar is covered with baseball memorabilia and signed items, showing explicitly that it's there for Mariner fans. Even though it doesn't have as many TVs as the Hawk's Nest has, this bar next to Safeco Field makes up for it with atmosphere. A constant stream of people is constantly flowing in, and this rowdy bunch creates the liveliest discussions on baseball in town.
You can stop by to get grab a couple drinks or burgers. Slugger's is also a great place for pre Mariner game drinks, with Happy Hour being between 3-7 p.m. Domestic beers are $2, while microbrews are $3. Appetizers start at $3.65.

Pyramid Alehouse is conveniently located right across the street from Safeco Field and supports the Mariners who are literally its neighbor.
Prior to every Mariners and Seahawks game, they open their beer garden for people looking for pre game food and drinks. While there are different burgers and pizza, it's really the huge selection of award winning beers that stand out. They're also the home of Pyramid Hefeweizen, a local Northwest favorite beer.
In addition, the beer garden also doubles as free parking before Mariners games. You just have to make sure you get there early enough to take advantage of it.
