Yahoo! Contributor NetworkCleveland Indians’ Fill the House for Charity Campaign
The Cleveland Indians are an organization that realizes there are often more important things than going out everyday to provide entertainment for the masses. They also realize it is important to give back to the community that comes out to cheer them on every game.

Since 2009 when the "Fill the House for Charity" campaign began, the Indians have provided over $1.68 million in monetary and in-kind donations for participating Ohio organizations.
For the 2012 season, the Indians will feature a different worthy organization every Tuesday home game this season. As in years past, the Tribe will donate $5 for every ticket sold by the charity and $1 for every ticket sold on the day of their designated game day.
In addition to the monetary support the charities receive, the Indians organization goes above and beyond to ensure awareness of the cause. They provide additional opportunities to raise funds such as the usage of a suite, autographed items, ceremonial first pitch, etc. as well. Charities are also featured in print and media promotions.
The lineup for the 2012 Cleveland Indians "Fill the House for Charity" campaign is as follows:
April 10, Chicago White Sox, Center of Families and Children
April 24, Kansas City Royals, American Red Cross of Northeast Ohio
May 8, Chicago White Sox, Our Lady of the Wayside
May 22, Detroit Tigers, Shoes and Clothes for Kids
May 29, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Food Bank
June 19, Cincinnati Reds, USO of Northern Ohio
July 3, Los Angeles Angels, Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland
July 24, Detroit Tigers, Berea Children's Home & Family Services
August 7, Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Animal Protective League
August 28, Oakland Athletics, United Way of Greater Cleveland
September 18, Minnesota Twins, Special Olympics of Ohio
October 2, Chicago White Sox, Coats for Kids
The more fans "in the house" at Progressive Field on designated game days—the more revenue that organization will receive.
